Well, I fully enjoyed your memories, especially the "Spirit of Rangeela" light show--now THAT would have been awesome!

I would love to see Jackie play more uncle/father types. Maybe he won't cut his hair and that's why he doesn't get the parts. Agree that Udit is definitely the 'voice' of Aamir just as Kishore was the 'voice' of Amitabh. Have yet to see Ghulam but it is on my queue. Goa - we had never heard the word prawns before going there and certainly had never seen any quite so big! Unreal is definitely the right description.

shell - Seeing a Bollywood movie in India is just the ultimate, with or without subtitles. My favorite cinema hall in India has to be Raj Mandir in Jaipur, just so over the top and grand. Thanks for stopping by!

Memsaab - poor Jackie is (rightfully) much maligned for his choice of fashions, namely speedos, in this movie. I have always liked his work and feel he gives a very grounded & believable feel to his work. And trust me, the only real way to fight jet lag is to bombard your senses with a day of food, movies & sightseeing in Bombay your first day out.Sanket Vyashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00410998671085464946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368338.post-30769923959732949842009-08-02T09:24:12.663-05:002009-08-02T09:24:12.663-05:00Aamir and Urmila are so sweet in this, and Jackie ...Aamir and Urmila are so sweet in this, and Jackie is good too. Why don't we see HIM in stuff these days? (besides awful bandannas and a myriad of other fashion don'ts)...love your account of buying tickets first-day-first-show-first-day-in-India-with-no-sleep :-Dmemsaabhttp://memsaabstory.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368338.post-80684984302891084322009-07-31T11:03:21.951-05:002009-07-31T11:03:21.951-05:00I have yet to see this one, though it's waitin...I have yet to see this one, though it's waiting for me, but had to pop over from ajnabi's review to read your take. I loved reading this post with the personal context you've included. How amazing and different the movie going experience must be in India rather than here. If I ever get there, I think that will be one experience I won't be able to pass up.Shelliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08758282383525747870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368338.post-74366792693352043042009-07-30T14:18:44.090-05:002009-07-30T14:18:44.090-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Bollywoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11296407098387050782noreply@blogger.com
